1. GENERAL - The Championship shall be conducted strictly according to rules.
2. ELIGIBILITY - The Championship is open to amateur golfers residing in the Tricity only. Men and Women who qualify for the respective categories, as given in the entry form, are eligible to participate . The following documents are required for proof of residence:-
a) Copy of Aadhar Card/Passport/Driving License.
b) of Rental agreement on stamp paper in case golfer staying in a rented home.
3. FORMAT - Competition will be conducted based on the following age groups and golf handicap limit.

4. DRESS CODE - The following dress code has to be strictly followed by the participants.
Dress - T-Shirts/ Sports Shirts with Collar & Sleeves (must be tucked in) Trouser/Pants/Shorts.
Shoes - Proper Golf Shoes.
Not Allowed - Sleeveless T-Shirts/Shirts, Jogging Shorts, Jeans, Tracksuits and Boxing/Football shorts.
5. MANNER OF PLAY
A. 36 Holes Stroke Play - All categories (18 hole each day).
Note : Cut may be applied after 18 holes of play at the discretion of the Championship Committee.
6. TEES
A. Men -Blue Tee Marker.
B. Women -Red Tee Marker.
7. ENTRIES - Entry will not be accepted unless accompanied by proof of residence. Last date of receipt of entries is 25th September 2015 by 12.00 Noon.
8. Golf Balls - Only 1.68 inch Balls, which are listed in the latest R&A. List of conforming, golf balls must be used and marked for identification by all participants.
9. CADDIES - All participants are allowed caddies NO PARENT/FRIEND/COACHES OR RELETIVES will be allowed to caddy. Motorised transport is not permitted. Caddy fee for one round will be Rs. 350/- to be paid by the participants.
10. GALLERY - Players shall not exchange any words with the Gallery. Galleries must keep distance from the players. Breach of this rule will mean disqualification of the competitor.
11. NO SMOKING /DRINKING/MOBILE PHONES - Smoking and drinking of hard liquor is prohibited during play. Mobile phones will be kept on silent mode. Can only be used for Medical assistance/call to the referee with the permission of the marker.
PENALTY: DISQUALIFICATION
12. UNBECOMING CONDUCT - The Tournament Committee may warn and /or impose a penalty of disqualification for improper conduct such as screaming and throwing of golf clubs or any other act which may tantamount to an act contrary to the laid down rules and regulations of golf, breach of local rules, physical confrontations between players or members of gallery etc.
13. RECORDING OF SCORESEach player will be assigned “Marker” to record the score of another player in the same group. The marker shall be responsible for recording the player’s correct score after completing a round of each hole.
After completion of the stipulated round, the player shall:-
a) Check his Hole by Hole score for accuracy.
b) Settle any doubtful points with the committee.
c) Ensure that his marker has signed the card.
d) Counter –sign the card himself.
e) Return the card to the Scorer/Recorder immediately after the completion of 18 round.
f) Any overwriting etc should be signed by the marker and the player.
Note : All participants are requested to submit their score cards to the recorder sitting in the open hut behind Starter Tee 1after completion of play.
14. AWARDS AND PRIZES.Winners of Both the Categories will be awarded a Running Championship trophy. In addition Gross and Net prizes will also be awarded to both the categories.
15. DRAWThe draw is left to the discretion of the Champion ship Committee. After day one of play, cut may be applied. The draw will be displayed on the notice boards of the CHANDIGARH GOLF CLUB and CGA GOLF RANGE.
16. PLAY OFF (TIES) - Ties for the first place in case of both the categories will be settled by a sudden death play off. Ties for the second and third place will be decided on the basis of the lowest score over the last 18,9,6,3, and 2nd hole, respectively.
17. CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEEList of Championship Committee, Technical Committee and Officials will be displayed on the notice board. The decision of the Championship Committee will be final and binding on all participants.
18. RULES OF GOLFThe Rules of Golf of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the LOCAL rules of the Chandigarh Golf Club will govern the play. Questions shall be settled by the Championship Committee whose decision shall be final.
Note : Copy of Local Rules will be given to each participant.
19. PACE OF PLAY ( NOTE 2 TO RULE 6-7
In the absence of mitigating circumstance, a group is liable to be timed if it is in excess of the time allowed and in case of second or subsequent groups, out of position. From the commencement of timing, if any player exceeds 50 seconds on a “first to play shot”, or 40 seconds if it is a “second or third to play shot” he is deemed to have had a “bad time”.
The time allowed will be determined by the Tournament Director/Chief Referee and will be published on the official notice board. Out of position is defined as being more than the starting interval behind the group in front.
A player whose group is timed will have a bad time carried forward in the round even if the group subsequently arrives back in position or within time.
Penalty for Breach of Condition:
One time : Verbal warning from Rules official.
Two Times : One Stroke penalty
Three Times : Two Stroke penalty
Four Times: Disqualification
20. INJURYChandigarh Golf Association will not be responsible for any injury caused to any body during the play.
